Obituary

Delores (Dee) Jimenez, a cherished mother, friend, and pillar of her community, peacefully passed away on February 25, 2025. Born on April 10, 1947, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to Albert and Carmen (Rocha) Canales, Delores exemplified strength, warmth, and determination throughout her life.

A proud graduate of Wiggins High School (1965), where she was a dedicated varsity cheerleader all four years, Delores went on to build a life defined by hard work and resilience. In 1968, she married Robert Jimenez, and together they established their home in Sterling, Colorado, where they lovingly raised their two children.

Her career was as varied as it was distinguished. Delores began her working life as a bus driver and later made significant contributions as a JCPenney merchandiser in Sterling. Driven by a lifelong commitment to learning, she earned a degree in accounting from NJC in Sterling following her divorce. Soon after relocating to Greeley, her professional journey expanded to include roles with the Greeley Recreation Department and in the banking industry. Her talents later found a home at State Farm Insurance, a position that eventually led her to Phoenix, Arizona, where she retired after many years of devoted service. Even in retirement, her love for work brought her back to JCPenney, a testament to her enduring energy and commitment.

Beyond her professional achievements, Delores was known for her vibrant spirit. She relished time spent with family and friends, participated enthusiastically in a dance group, and enjoyed an active lifestyle through sports. Her home was always filled with the love of her numerous pets, and her friendships, many of which spanned decades, were a source of great joy.

Delores is survived by her daughter, Felicia Tellez (Larry Tellez); her three grandchildren, Ceara Tellez (Delaney Frost), Cameron Tellez (Shadae Mallory), and Celeste Tellez; as well as one great-grandchild, Sol Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Carmen Canales, her beloved son, Gabriel Jimenez, and her brother, Albert Canales, Jr.

Her legacy of compassion, perseverance, and genuine warmth will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A rosary and mass for Delores's remarkable life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 10:30 am followed with Mass at 11:00 am at St. Helena Catholic Church, 917 West 7th Avenue, Fort Morgan, CO 80701.
