Derek M. Kumke, 37, former Brush resident, passed away suddenly Monday, November 14, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was born January 6, 1979, in Brush.

Derek attended Riverview Christian School for several years and graduated from Brush High School in 1997. At the time of his death Derek drove a truck.

Survivors include his mother, Cookie Kumke; his Father, Myron (Peggy) Kumke, 1 sister, Heather Kolman; step siblings, Joshua Kenney, Kristina Kenney and Keith Kenney; his Grandmothers, Bonnie Trout and Margie Blauvelt; a special friend, Kristie Flores and her daughters, Desirae and Mikaela; and his nephews, Wyatt Kolman, Lane Kolman, Lucian Kumke, Chase Bainum and Jaxson Kenney.

Funeral services will be held at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
