Destiny Renace McMinn, was born on April 29, 1998 in Denver, Colorado. She died in April of 2017. Destiny was adopted when she was 5-years-old, and began living in the Morgan County area with her loving family. A bright, intelligent, accomplished young lady, Destiny had many talents related to the performing and visual arts. She was a voracious reader whose favorite magazine was National Geographic. She loved animals, especially her rabbits, and was a skilled animal husband on her family's farm where she milked cows and fed a variety of livestock.

Destiny professed Christ as her personal Savior and received the sacrament of Baptism on Sunday, July 29, 2012, when she joined the Orthodox Presbyterian church she attended regularly with her family. She often had a song in her heart, spontaneously singing or playing piano renditions of classic Christian hymns she had memorized. Her favorite Bible scripture verse was, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

Though profoundly dyslexic, Destiny was a gifted musician. She sang a variety of music genres and played the piano. She composed several lengthy piano pieces by merely playing them, never writing them down. Piano playing for her was emotionally soothing and she would play for hours, seemingly becoming one with the instrument.

Destiny was active in 4H, having enjoyed many leadership conference trips both in Colorado and to Washington, DC. She showed livestock, including a variety of Catch-It projects, and her rabbits each year. She was a Senior Rabbit Showman Champion and often demonstrated to younger youth how to care for and show rabbits. Destiny enjoyed baking and sewing; her projects were often exhibited at the Colorado State Fair. She enjoyed playing the piano at the 4H Talent Fest, and modeling in Fashion Revue. She received awards for her public speaking in the Demonstration Contest. Destiny was a 12-year member of the Morgan Sandburs 4H club, and served as a club officer for several years.

Destiny was homeschooled 1st through 12th grade. She planned to graduate high school in May 2017 then continue her education at Morgan Community College. She belonged to the Morgan County Homeschool Network, and often helped teach other members in art, gym, and science activities.

Destiny had a love for younger children; she babysat, and led recreational activities for two local support groups. She looked forward to the day she would marry and begin her own family which by her desire would include many birth and adopted children. She was compassionate and caring, often befriending the outcast and downtrodden.

Destiny had a great love for God's beautiful creation and spent a lot of time outdoors. As she helped her mother garden she often found and collected a variety of insects, including her favorite, butterflies. She was very observant and could spot baby fawns hidden in grass on a far hill, or ducks nesting by a pond. She shared her family's love of the ocean whether body surfing, collecting shells, or swimming with stingrays!

Destiny's adoptive family loved her dearly and has many fond memories of their vacations together, working on family farm projects, her love for food and cooking many family meals, her enthusiasm for board games, and her fun-loving spirit of comradery and friendship during the best of times.

Destiny is survived by her adoptive mother, birth parents, adoptive grandparents, aunts and uncles, more than a dozen birth, adoptive, and step siblings, many cousins and nieces and nephews. All loved her and will miss her zest for life and loving kindness.

Destiny's family will hold a private memorial service to honor her life. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved adoptive father at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Colorado during a later private family internment ceremony.
