Dixie L. Johnson, age 70, resident of Fort Morgan, died suddenly, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center emergency room. She was born July 28, 1940 in Martinez, CA to Thomas and Evelyn Zortman. Ms. Johnson worked as a custodian at Morgan Community College and also was a bartender/waitress at the Scotch & Steer Restaurant and the Colonial Restaurant. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Walter of Fort Morgan; her daughter, Sabrina Hunt of Woodrow; her sister, Robin Marshall, of Fort Morgan; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Skinner in 1983 and her father. Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Morgan County Humane Society, c/o Heer & Dahl Mortuary, who was in charge of the cremation arrangements.
