Dolores Eileen Wecker joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 30, 2017. Dolores was born to Lawrence and Anna Zollars on May 14, 1927.

Dolores married Virgil Wecker on May 14, 1946 in St. Francis, Kansas. Virgil worked for Great Sugar Company for 36 years. Virgil's job moved the  family from Brush to Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Lovell, Wyoming and back to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by Virgil in 1993.

Dolores was an active member of the Church of Christ in Scottsbluff and Dayspring Christian Church in Ft. Collins. In her later years, she was a member of Longmont United Methodist Church in Louisville, Colorado.  Dolores loved working with children.  She was a devoted Sunday School teacher, Choir Director, Youth Leader and Vacation Bible School leader.  She had a deep alto voice, and enjoyed singing in duets, quartets and choirs with her sisters and with church friends.

One of her proudest accomplishments was taking a leading role in researching and publishing numerous  volumes of the Zollars,Madsen, Houderscheldt, and Wecker family genealogies.

Dolores is survived by her son, Roger Wecker and wife Christine of Louisville, Colorado; her daughter, Kathy Sonnichsen and husband, Gary of Delta Junction, Alaska; Her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were especially important to her: Matthew Schaffer of Portland, Oregon; Calen Sonnichsen of North Pole, Alaska; Landen Sonnichsen of Delta Junction, Alaska; Aneliess Wecker of Lafayette, Colorado. Great grandchildren Anna Pearl Schaffer and August Schaffer of Portland, Oregon; Oliver Sonnichsen of North Pole, Alaska; Indiana Lee Wecker-Waite of Lafayette, Colorado. She is also survived by loving sisters and numerous nieces and  nephews , as well as, lifetime friends that she loved like family.

Dolores lived a life of duty and devotion to her family and her friends. She bore her long life's sorrows and joys with steadfast faith in the Lord. She will be remembered in the happy memories we have of her, and for the love she wished for all.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 5th at 2:00 PM at Heer Mortuary in Brush and will conclude at the Brush Cemetery.
