Obituary

Dominga V. Ramirez, 85, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2019, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush.  She was born Jan 7, 1934, in Brush to Filomeno & Dolores Vasquez.

On November 13, 1950, Dominga married Antonio Ramirez.  The Ramirez family lived in Denver for a short time where Dominga worked as a home health care aide.

Dominga dedicated her life to raising her family.  She enjoyed sewing and raising a vegetable garden during the summers.  Her favorite activity was spending time with her family.  She enjoyed putting together family gatherings, especially at Prewitt Reservoir.  She taught her children to work for what they wanted.  She loved her family unconditionally and was always available to talk with them.  She was a quiet woman who loved to laugh.  She was a die-hard Denver Bronco fan.    When her youngest child graduated from high school Dominga got her GED certificate.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 69 years, Antonio of Brush; her children, Teresa (Pete) Medina of Commerce City, CO, Tina (Fred) Espinoza and Diana (Steve) Whaley all of Hillrose, CO, Henry Ramirez and Ray Santillan both of Lakewood, CO, Semon Ramirez of Las Vegas, NV, and Martin Ramirez of Brush; 18 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren, 1 sister, Sally Gillette of Wray, CO, 5 brothers, John Vasquez of El Paso, TX, Felix Vasquez of Greeley, CO, Semon Vasquez of Colorado Springs, CO, Paul Vasquez of Wray, CO, and Val Vasquez of Hillrose, CO, and lots of neices and nephews.  She was preceded in death by 3 children, Anthony, Dolores Jaimes, and Martha Perry; 3 great grandsons, her parents, 1 brother, and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 1:00 PM at the Snyder Bible Church.  Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Tuesday, February 19, from 5 – 7 PM.
