Don Lynn Schantz took the hand of His Lord and Savior Jesus peacefully, early Tuesday morning, May 14, 2024 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. Don came into this world on June 4, 1958, born to his parents, Carl and Billie Schantz in Strasburg, CO. Don was the youngest of four sons born to his parents and a fourth generation Coloradian.

Don loved growing up in Strasburg and had many fond memories and stories he loved telling about Strasburg. He gave many hours as a volunteer with the Strasburg Fire Department. As a caretaker for his parents, Don eventually located Eben Ezer for his parents in the 1990's to receive the daily cares they needed until end of life. Don, himself, moved into Hansen Apartments at Eben Ezer in September, 2009, becoming active as the
U. S. flag pole attendant every day and weekly Bingo Caller. He also joined All Saints Church serving as the Sunday morning bell-ringer, acolyte, and usher for many years until his health-declined, but continuing to attend church in-person every Sunday and bingo during the week. He seldom missed a Broncos broadcast and his coach's voice could be heard in the hallways most Sundays.

A memorial service for Don will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 at All Saints Church, at 1:00pm. Burial will be immediately following the service at Riverside Cemetery in Ft. Morgan.
