Donald V. Drew, 83, life resident of the Fort Morgan community, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. Don fell earlier in the week and died of complications from his fall. He was born January 23, 1928, in Fort Morgan, to Ralph & Maude Marie Drew. On January 25, 1948, Don married Lora Lorraine Likes in Greeley. Prior to retirement, Don ranched north of Fort Morgan. He was a life member of the BPOE #1143. He was an avid Colorado Rockies baseball fan. He loved his job and especially enjoyed watching cattle. In his younger days, Don enjoyed big game and bird hunting. Survivors include his children, Janet Baumgartner and Judy Weimer, both of Fort Morgan, and Vernon Drew of Brush; 1 sister, Vera Cox of Fort Morgan; 1 brother, Delbert of Greeley; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, who died March 10, 2011; 1 brother, Lloyd, and his parents. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 22, at 11:00 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. The service will conclude at the mortuary. Private inurnment will be in Memory Gardens.
