Obituary

Donald F. McClary, 87, longtime local attorney, died Monday, September 5, 2011 at his home in Ft. Morgan. He was born July 21, 1924 in Denver to William F. and Leona M. (Johnson) McClary. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, starting in the Army specialized training program and then ending in Battery C of the 666th Field Artillery Battalion. Donald moved from Denver to Ft. Morgan in 1950 and joined George Epperson's law firm. He married Margaret Louise Anderson on December 23, 1950 in Colorado Springs. Donald was a member of the Saint Charles the Martyr Episcopal Church in Ft. Morgan. He was also a member of BPOE Lodge 1143, the Fort Morgan Country Club, the Rotary Club, the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. McClary enjoyed scuba diving, traveling, golf, fly fishing, and most of all his grandchildren. Survivors include his son Andrew McClary and wife Kimberly of Ft. Morgan, and his daughter Meg Gomez-McClary of Denver, three grandchildren, Maggie Gomez of Denver, Scott McClary of Golden and Michael McClary of Ft. Morgan. Donald was preceded in death by his wife Peg McClary, a granddaughter, Jennifer Leona Gomez his parents,and his brother, Robert McClary. Memorial Services will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:00 am the Saint Charles the Martyr Episcopal Church in Ft. Morgan. Services will conclude at the church. Inurnment will be in Serenity Falls in Ft. Morgan at a later date. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts in Donald's name to either the Hospice of the Plains at 100 Broadway, Suite 1 A, Sterling, Colorado or to the charity of your choice. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
