Donald W. Nickell, 85, of Woodrow, died Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Lincoln Health Care Center in Hugo. Don was born May 7, 1936 in Genoa to Chester & Verna (Hays) Nickell.

On December 30, 1963, Donald married Jane Warner in Syracuse, KS. In 1964 they moved to the family farm, south of Last Chance. Together, they operated the Dairy King restaurant in Last Chance for 30 years. Mr. & Mrs. Nickell resided in both Washington and Morgan Counties throughout their lives. Jane passed away on June 21, 2021.

Don is survived by his foster son, Roger Ortiz (Erma Campos) of Genoa; his sister, Judy Ann Coghill of Arizona; four grandchildren, Mia, Brayan, Rossy, and Rodrigo; and one great granddaughter, Baylee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Betty Jean Thompson, Barbara Lee Nickell, Hope Alice Roth, and Priscilla Jane Gleason; and his wife, Jane Nickell.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 13 ^th at 11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan with Interment following in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.
