Donald Harry Rehkop, age 94 passed away on October 5, 2023 at Banner Health in Greeley, Colorado. He was a lifetime resident of Morgan County.

Donald was born on August 12, 1929 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Arthur and Stella Cook Rehkop. He was the seventh of nine children.

He attended school in Fort Morgan and served in the Korean war from 1950 to 1953.

On September 12, 1956 he married Ann Granere. Together they had two children, Michael and Tamara.

Donald farmed southeast of Fort Morgan for 43 years and managed the Ambrose ranch for 18 years. He loved to be with nature out in the wide-open pasture with his horse and dog.

"Pops" was a gentle soul. He was always there for you with a smile and words of encouragement.

Donald is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter, Tamara Jess; sister, Betty Rees; grandson, Christopher Jess; granddaughter, Chelsea Riscoe (Eric); and great grandson, Lance Jess.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Stella; son, Michael Rehkop; siblings, Mildred Carpenter, Cathleen Jones, Josephine Jones, Gravel Rehkop, Willis Rehkop, Margurite Gunther, and Fredrick Rehkop.

At Donald's request, there will be private graveside services.
