Donna Lee Lorensen, 80, lifelong area resident, died, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. She was born March 29, 1932 in Brush to Claude and Matilda (Fritzler) Starr. Donna married James Lorensen on December 9, 1951 in Brush. James died in 1991. Together they ran Brush Locker for over 34 years. Donna was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush. For a time she was a member of the Bell Choir. She was also in the Brush Music Club, in several local bridge clubs, on the Brush Museum Board, and belonged to the Cattleman's Association. Donna enjoyed playing golf, bowling, music, she taught piano lessons, and was an enthusiastic supporter of 4-H. She loved her children and grandchildren and they were very important to her. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Hepner and husband Dale of Brush and Janet Jones also of Brush, one brother, Ron Starr of El Paso, Texas, four grandchildren, Christie Barnhill, April Hepner, Geri Rogers and Nate Hepner and five great grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jim. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 4 until 7 pm at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 10:30am at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush. Interment will follow in Brush Memorial Cemetery. Memorial Gifts may be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or to an organization that benefits youth of Morgan County.
