Obituary

Donna Joy Sagel died on April 25, 2018 at Sunset Manor in Brush, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was born in Fremont, Nebraska on August 11, 1932 to Francis Yager and Emma (Nowack) Yager. After the death of her father she was adopted by her stepfather Louis Dick. She had one sister, Jean Dollerschell.

Donna grew up in Hastings, Nebraska. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1950. Upon her graduation, she moved to Ft. Morgan and began working as a nurse's aide at the Fort Morgan Community Hospital.

She was introduced to her future husband, Fred Sagel on a blind date. They had a deep, enduring love for each other. They were married in the Immanuel Evangelical Church on August 17, 1952 and were together for 64 years until Fred's death in January 2017. They had two children, Randy and Rhonda.

Fred and Donna farmed together in the Weldona, Wiggins, and Ft. Morgan area. They purchased a farm south of Ft. Morgan in 1970. They farmed there until Fred retired due to poor health in 1996. Donna loved being a farm wife and helping Fred with farming. She especially loved the animals and taking care of them. Most of all Donna loved her family and friends. She attended all of her grandchildren's events and took pride in them. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Church.

She is survived by her son, Randy Sagel, granddaughter, Alisha Sagel, great-grandsons, Jason and Jaden Renka, daughter, Rhonda (Sagel) Frasier, and Linn Frasier, grandson, Daniel Frasier and Christina (Haws) Frasier, and great-grandsons, Ethan, Josiah, Elijah and Jonathan Frasier, also granddaughter, Janelle Frasier and Aaron Bongard, and great-grandson, Micah Bongard. Also nephews, Tim and Mary Dollerschell and Gary and Kay Dollerschell, and many members of the Sagel family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Sagel and her sister, Jean Dollerschell and Willy Dollerschell.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Church in Ft. Morgan. Donations can be made to the Immanuel Evangelical Church.
