Dora L. Nichols, 92, longtime resident of Ft. Morgan died early Saturday at the Valley View Villa nursing home. She was born December 25, 1913, in Omaha, NE, to Edward & Edith Monk. When Dora was a child her family moved south of Akron, CO. She attended, and was baptized, at the Sunnydale Church. In 1934, Dora married Perry Crosier in St. Francis, KS. He died in 1949. IN 1957 she married Hubert Nichols in Gallup, NM. He died in 1961. Dora worked several jobs in her working career to help support herself and her family. He jobs included working as a telephone operator, and working at the Wells Lamont Glove Factory. Prior to retirement, Dora drove a school bus for the RE-1 School District in Fort Morgan. Dora loved working with and riding horses. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Hopper of Fort Morgan; a step-son, Gale Nichols of Akron; 1 sister, Marjorie Barber of Vallejo, CA; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, 5 brothers, and her parents. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 12, at 2:30 PM at the Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the charity of the donor's choice. ####
