Doris Arlene Gammel, 83, longtime area resident, died Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. She was born February, 8, 1931 on their farm north of Fort Morgan, to Fred and Alta (Robertson) Ficken. Arlene married Arthur L. Gammel on December 28, 1947 in Fort Morgan. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Arlene enjoyed cooking, baking, and playing bingo. Survivors include, two sons, Dan Gammel of Fort Morgan, and David Gammel and wife Deb of Greeley; two daughters, Janis Albert and husband Tom of Aurora and Joyce Gammel of Fort Morgan; one brother, Donald Ficken of Greeley; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, eight brothers and sisters, and her parents. A Graveside Memorial Service and inurnment will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Serenity Falls Columbarium in Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
