Doris Kintner departed this life to be the Lord on August 12, 2020.  She was born March 3, 1930, on the Bender family farm in Pennsylvania (PA) to Omar & Norma Bender.

Following a short, courageous battle with cancer.  Doris passed away surrounded by her loving family including her husband Jim.

As the oldest daughter, Doris learned the value of hard work and responsibility.  She loved her time in the one room schoolhouse learning about the world.  At the age of 14, in rural PA tradition, she finished with school to help manage the household.  At the age of 21, Doris decided she wanted to be a teacher.  After completing her high school education, she attended Eastern Mennonite University and then Goshen College to complete her degree in Education.  Doris began her teaching career in Indiana, then teaching at Green Acres Elementary in Fort Morgan for many years.  Her passion for teaching kept her substituting into her 80's – her career in education spanned over 30 years.

Doris' spiritual journey brought her to become a non-denominational believer – her faith was strong.  He hobbies included gardening, cooking, and spending time with family along with gameday get-togethers with her friends.  Doris will be remembered for her bright smile, kind heart and passion for life.

Surviving family include her husband, Jim; 2 daughters, Sharon Renshaw and Sandy Baack; 1 sister, 4 brothers, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Suki Morgan; 6 brothers, and her parents.

Inurnment will be at Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan.  Social distancing and personal protective equipment usage will be expected from those attending.
