DORIS "DODIE" LABRAYERE, 82, of Fort Morgan, died early Saturday morning, January 1, 2011 at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan. She was born March 28, 1928 in Central City, KY to Delbert & Katherine (Nalley) Newcom. She married Vernon F. LaBrayere in Kansas City, MO on November 8, 1946. Mrs. LaBrayere worked as a lab foreman for Western Sugar in Fort Morgan for nearly 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan where she was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 19, Fort Morgan. In years past she enjoyed sewing and cooking. She also enjoyed singing. Playing bingo was among her most recent hobbies. Mrs. LaBrayere also had an unconditional love of animals. Survivors include her daughter, Diane Webb of Fort Morgan; three sons, Dick LaBrayere of Gibbon, NE, David LaBrayere of Pflugerville, TX, and Dennis LaBrayere of Wichita, KS; her sister, Jacqueline Miller of West Bend, WI; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Katherine Negovan; her grandson, Jonathan LaBrayere; and her husband, Vern LaBrayere. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 4th at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
