Dorothea V. Jones, 86, of Brush, passed away Thursday evening, November 15, 2007, at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush following a short illness. She was born January 5, 1921, in Colorado Springs, CO Charles & Ruby Mengers. Dorothea graduated from Glockner Penrose School of Nursing in Colorado Springs. She worked as a registered nurse for about 30 years. On October 3, 1945, she married Arthur Kendrick. She married Fred Jones on April 3, 1969. In 1983 Dorothea moved to Brush to be closer to her family. She was a very involved member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed volunteering her time with Caring Ministries of Morgan County, Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, Sunset Manor, American Red Cross Gray Ladies, and Meals & Friendship. She looked forward to spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include 2 children, Vivian Llewellyn and David Kendrick both of Brush; 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, and one nephew, Wayne Sweetser and his family from Hayden, CO. She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, 1 sister, Virginia Ellerton, and her parents. A memorial service will be held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 603 Custer Street in Brush on Monday, November 19, 2007, at 11:00 AM. The service will conclude at the church.
