Obituary

Dorothea M. Wagers, 84, longtime area resident, died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born in Denver, Colorado on November 14, 1925 to John and Chloe MacDonald. Mrs. Wagers was a resident of Brush for the past 60 years and a first grade teacher in the Brush schools for 21 years. Dorothy was very active in the Brush community. She was a member of PEO, a member of the East Morgan County Hospital Auxiliary, a volunteer at the library and a past member of the Brush Museum Board. She also volunteered at Thomson School and tutored children for many years after retiring from teaching. Dorothy was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, painting and crafts. She also enjoyed taking walks with friends and was an enthusiastic fan of the Colorado Rockies. Survivors include Greg and Elizabeth Wagers of Ft. Morgan, Susan Wagers of Greenwood Village, Scott and Bernadette Wagers of Berthoud and Barb Wagers and Joni Smith of Bennett. She is also survived by a sister, Shirley Walford, of Albuquerque, NM, a brother, Roderick and Hannah MacDonald of Richardson, Texas and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and Robert C. Wagers. A memorial service will be Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Rankin Presbyterian Church in Brush. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the East Morgan County Library in Brush.
