Dorothea Winter, 86, of Ft. Morgan, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the inpatient hospice unit at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She was born December 2, 1925, in Menno, South Dakota, to William & Lydia (Kost) Haisch. Dorothea married Glenn Winter on May 25, 1951 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Winter family has lived in Fort Morgan for over 50 years. She taught 3rd grade at Green Acres School prior to retirement. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed knitting, reading, music and crocheting. Her favorite activity was attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors include 1 daughter, Jennifer Schossow, and her husband Doug, of Fort Morgan; and 2 grandchildren, Jeff and Lizzy. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, 1 sister, and her parents. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 28, at 10:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Chapel on Tuesday from 2 – 4 PM.
