Dorothy (Joan) Frick, passed away on November 5, 2023, at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, Brush, CO.

She was born to Joseph and Hazel Masters on January 5, 1933 in Brighton, CO. Joan graduated from Brighton High School where she was still attending class reunions until last year. She married Paul H Frick on October 19,1953. After marrying, Joan and Paul settled in Fort Morgan where they spent their life together raising their one daughter Barbara (Bobbi) and a few cousins.

Joan worked for many years for the Morgan County Clerk and Recorder's Office.  Upon retiring from that position, she served as a bailiff for the court system.

She was a charter member of the D.O.E.S. and the Fort Morgan VFW Joan remained involved in their activities for many years. The DOES, ELKS and VFW were a very big part of the Frick family. The friendships that were made through the DOES were so very important to Joan.

Joan loved to bowl in her younger years. She also enjoyed playing cards, going on drives, and spending time with her beloved family.

After Paul's Passing in 2010 Joan spent time with her very good friend Orville Wellman. Orville and Joan had lots of fun together along with Orville's children who were so good to Joan. For that the family is forever grateful.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Frick; brother, Joseph Masters; and her beautiful daughter, Barbara Gorrell.  She is survived by her brother, Herb Masters; sister, Laura Courter; friend, Orville Wellman; grandson, Jay (Samantha) Wilson; granddaughter, Jenni (Mark) Weinstein; great grandchildren J.R. Kolman, Tucker (Leslie) Kolman, Shelbi (Anthony) Miller, Dakota (Shawn) Branch, Mark B. Weinstein, Kannon Wilson; two great-great grandchildren, Callie Kolman and Walker Branch, all the Wellmen children and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service for Joan on her birthday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 225 E. Platte Ave. Fort Morgan, CO.
