Obituary

Dorothy M. Giauque, 93, longtime Brush resident, passed away early Saturday, December 1, 2007, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. She was born June 28, 1914, in Brokenbow, NE, to Elmer & Eva Willis. The Willis family moved to Brush in 1920. She graduated from Brush High School in 1932 and then attended beauty college. She married Clayton L. Giauque in Denver. Dorothy was a very involved member of the Rankin Presbyterian Church, teaching Sunday School, and working in the church women's organizations. She volunteered at the East Morgan County Library for at least 40 years, helped in the Giauque Plumbing Shop office, and was in the home demonstration club. She enjoyed singing, writing children's stories, charcoal drawing, water – color painting, spending time with friends, going out to eat and driving around the county. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her 2 sons, Larry of Brush and Bill of Ocala, FL; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 daughter, Janet, 1 brother, Maynard, and her parents. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at 11:00 AM at the Rankin Presbyterian Church in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 3, 2007, from 3 – 6 PM. The Heer Mortuary & Crematory of Brush is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Dorothy Giauque Memorial Fund c/o Heer Mortuary.
