It is with great sorrow that her family announces the death of their beloved mother and Grandmother, Dorothy L Groth. Dorothy was born June 21,1927 in Wellington, CO to Maurice & Freda DeGabain. She attended school in Wellington and graduated from Wellington High in 1945.
She married Robert E Groth on April 20, 1947, in Ft Collins, CO. and they had a son, Roy Allen, and a daughter, Gail Ann.
Dorothy began a lengthy career with Mountain Bell, beginning as a phone operator in Ft Collins in January of 1946 and was promoted to several positions until finally being assigned to the Commercial Dept as a service representative. Dorothy and Bob, who also was employed by Mountain Bell, continued to live in Ft Collins until they were transferred by their departments to Ft Morgan in 1967.
Dorothy was a member of St Helena Catholic Church, Past President of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a member of the Elks Lodge Chapter of Does. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, golf, generously sharing with others and lots and lots of shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents of Wellington, CO, husband Bob in1984, her Grandson Troy Groth of Marianna, FL in 2014 and sisters Marian Stanczyk of Cheyenne, WY & Janet Shea of Loveland, CO.
She is survived by family members who loved her deeply, including her Son & Daughter-In-Law, Roy & Ann Groth of Marianna, FL, Daughter, Gail Baker of Madera, CA, three Grandchildren, seven Great Grandchildren and the many friends and relatives who will forever cherish the memories they made together.
Her presence brought joy, laughter and comfort to many and though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we had together. May her memory be a blessing and support to all in the days ahead.
A memorial Mass will be held to celebrate Dorothy's life and legacy on Tuesday, October 14th at 10:30 AM at St Helena Catholic Church with a reception to follow at the Church hall.
