Obituary

Dorothy Eloise Johnson, 98, of Brush, CO entered the loving arms of her Savior on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, in Brush. Dorothy was born March 9, 1925, in Morganville, Kansas. Dorothy grew up on a rural farm in Clay County, near Garfield Center and Morganville. Later in her years she moved back to Brush, Colorado to be close to her sister Birdie. Dorothy worked at Eben Ezer for many years. It was then she began attending college classes at Northeastern Junior College to become an LPN. Dorothy continued to work at Eben Ezer until her retirement. She loved to travel with family, she was quite a game player, especially Scrabble, she loved to do crossword puzzles, and to write. Dorothy had a quiet spirit, loved her family, and loved her Savior. Dorothy resided in Brush until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Axel and Louise Johnson; sisters, Alberta (Birdie) Hammer, and Ailene Hanson; brother-in-laws, David Hammer, and Byron Hanson; and nephew, Dwight Hanson and his wife, Janis Hanson. Survivors include nieces, Sonjie Smith and husband Ron of Arizona, Kris Hanson of Clay Center, and Daveta (Hammer) Grigson and husband Carl of Evans, CO; nephews, Del Hammer and wife Krystal of Brush, CO, Jeff Hammer of Brush, CO, and Sheldon Hamer of Mitchell, SD; numerous great nephews; a great niece; and four great-great nephews.
