Dorothy M. Ley, 72, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, due to complications from a brain aneurysm suffered on April 30th. She was born August 3, 1945, in Fort Morgan, CO to Thomas & Blanche Patton.

Prior to retirement Dorothy worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was her favorite activity.

Survivors include her children, Sherry (Brian) Weitzel of Greeley, CO; Kristen (Lars) Forsman of Elko, MN; and Ryan (Jaime) Ley of Brush; her siblings, Carl Patton of Fort Morgan; Betty Burnett of Apache Junction, AZ; Jim Patton of Madisonville, TX; Carol Rice of Bridgeport, NE; Toby Schwindt of Wheatland, WY; Ruth Collins of Crested Butte, CO; Ike Patton & Clyde "Roger" Patton both of Roggen, CO; and Roy Patton of Frederick, CO; and by 7 grandchildren, Tyler (Amanda) Weitzel, Trevor (Macy) Weitzel, Paige, Kyle, Brooke Forsman, Austin & Cody Ley.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 2, 2018, at 10:30 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. The service will conclude at the Mortuary.
