Dorothy May McAlister, 90, lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. Dorothy was born March 30, 1921 in Stoneham to Lidge and Etta Widener. She was married to Laurence M. McAlister. He died in 1965. Mrs. McAlister enjoyed knitting and working crossword puzzles. She loved her family. Her grandson Lance was very special to her. Survivors include one daughter, Pat McAlister of Cedaredge, CO, one son, Terry McAlister of Ft. Morgan, one grandson and three great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Laurence, three sisters, Edith Sankey, Thelma Musser, and Virgina Marvin and three brothers, Bill , Harry and Elmer Widener. Graveside Memorial Services will be Monday, December 19, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Riverside Cemetery in Ft. Morgan. The Heer and Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
