Dorothy "Joan" Price, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. She was born May 14, 1929, to Leslie & Dorothy Elberg in Kansas City, MO. Joan met John "Jack" H. Price Jr. while he was in dental school. They married on April 2, 1950. After his graduation from dental school, they moved back to Colorado and raised their four children. Joan loved her family and made it her career to raise her children. She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a part of the women's groups, a member of PEO Chapter "T", and played in several bridge clubs. She worked at B & B Pharmacy as a retail clerk after the death of her husband. Joan's second love in her life was her animals. After her children left home and Jack had passed on, she moved to Fort Morgan and had a small farm on which she raised llamas and other animals. She shared her love of animals with her grandchildren by taking the llamas to "show and tell" and letting the grandkids show them at the Stock Show. After retiring, Joan moved to Greeley. Survivors include her four children, John (Brenda) Price of Truth or Consequences, NM, Robert (Teri) Price of Eaton, CO, Leslie Logan of Anchorage, AK, and Luanne (Randy) Albert of Fort Morgan; 12 grandchildren, Cassandra Noel) Miramontes, Jonathan, Dominic, Adalina, Joshua, & Daniel Price, Brandon Arroyo, Rory (Sueann) Schilling, Roman (Cassandra) Schilling, Austin Albert, Aaron, (Katherine) Price, Tiffany (Tom) Toth, and 3 great grandchildren, Makayla, Mia & Eli. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John "Jack" H. Price Jr.; 1 sister, Shirley Fariss and 1 great granddaughter, Nevaeh Schilling, and her parents, Leslie & Dorothy (Zimmerman) Elberg. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 25, 2013, at 1:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush. The service will conclude at the mortuary. Private inurnment will be in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Morgan County Humane Society c/o Heer Mortuary.
