Obituary

Dorothy J. Rogers, 74, long time Wiggins resident, died Monday morning at her home in Wiggins. She was born November 20, 1933 in Wheatland, WY to John and Marie (Glanz) Frihauf. Her family moved to Wiggins in 1949. She graduated from Wiggins High School in 1951. Dorothy married Mitchel E. Rogers April 19, 1953 in Ft. Morgan. They owned the Country Fare Restaurant for 18 years and retired in 1995. She then worked at Temco Manufacturing in Ft. Morgan. Dorothy held the Touch of Country Craft Show at her home every year for the past 12 years. Her hobbies included puzzles, crafting, gardening and cooking. She especially enjoyed cooking meals for large family gatherings as well as making jam from fresh berries and rhubarb grown in her own garden. She is survived by her eight children: Gary Rogers of Greeley; Phillip Rogers of Stratton; Pat Rogers, Mitch Rogers, Terri King, and Cathy King all of Wiggins; Susan Rogers of Ft. Collins; Cindy Cardona of Ft. Morgan; sisters Lois Olsen of Wiggins and Barbara Reed of Thermopolis, WY; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchel, an infant sister, Joyce Frihauf, one great granddaughter, Myra Miranda, and both of her parents. A rosary service will be held on Thursday evening, May 22nd, at 6:00pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Wiggins. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 23rd at 12:30 pm, also at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Interment to follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Ft. Morgan. Memorial donations may be made to Adams Camp for Autistic Children, to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, or to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, c/o Heer Mortuaries 225 E. Platte Ave. Ft. Morgan, CO 80701.
