Dorothy W. Shepperd of Fort Morgan, Colorado, passed away at the hospital in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on December 29, 2010 at the age of 93 years. She was born outside of Gothenburg, Nebraska on a cattle ranch on July 11, 1917. Dorothy grew up with her parents (Theron and Grace), three older brothers (Harlan, Raymond and Ivan) and two younger sisters (Francis and Ruth). Dorothy was raised with a strong work ethic which endured for all of her life. She graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1934 and then graduated from the University of Colorado in 1939. First and foremost Dorothy was a teacher. She taught school for over 40 years at North Platte, Nebraska, New Raymer, Colorado and Fort Morgan, Colorado. Dorothy was a member of the Fort Morgan United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Dorothy met her husband Dale Shepperd in New Raymer, Colorado and they had two sons, Jack and Roger Shepperd. She is survived by her sons, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. The funeral ceremony will be held at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan on Monday, January 3, at 1:30 pm.
