Dorothy P.  Thornsby, 92, lifelong area resident died Thursday October 28, 2021 at Windcrest Retirement Community in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Dorothy was born August 11, 1929 in Brush Colorado.  Her parents were John and Laurette Price.   Dorothy married William T. Thornsby on December 17, 1950 in Brush, Colorado.  Dorothy was a lifelong educator and retired from MCC as her last professional job.  She was the organist at the Methodist Church for over thirty years.  Dorothy was very active in the community with PEO, Friday Club, several bridge groups, volunteering and playing music.  She had a love of music that she shared with everyone.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents – John and Laurette Price, brothers John Price (Joan), James Price (Tad), and husband William Thornsby.

Dorothy is survived by her son David Thornsby, daughters Carol Mairs (David), and Cathy Ray (Gary).  She has eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  Her family was the light of her life and she will be missed by so many.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Windcrest for their exemplary care and kindness shown to our mother.

Memorial services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan (527 State Street) at 11:00 on Monday, November 1, 2021. Reception to follow.
