Obituary

Douglas Doyle Bird, 54, lifelong area resident, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Denver, surrounded by his wife and children.

He was born October 4, 1964 in Fort Morgan to Doyle and Frances (Osborn) Bird.

He married Linda L. Kuriger on December 5, 1996 in Fort Morgan.

Doug enjoyed classic cars, drag racing, camping, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.  People often spoke of his stories, jokes, sarcastic personality and his mechanical ability.  He worked much of his life as a mechanic in the oilfield but enjoyed working for Maverick Stimulation the most.  His greatest achievements in life were becoming the family man he always wanted and getting that perfect reaction time during his last drag race.

He is survived by his wife Linda of Fort Morgan, and children, Jessica Decker (Douglas) of Evans, and Carissa Bird of Fort Morgan.  Special thanks to our second family and staff at PSL and CBCI: Dr. Brunvand, Poppy, Dr. Rotta, Blair, and all of his friends at the infusion center.  We couldn't have done it without you.

A Private Celebration of His Life will be held in the coming weeks.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Rocky Mountain Blood Cancer Assistance Fund (Commerce Bank; Attn:  RMBCAF, 8450 E Crescent Parkway, Suite 150, Greenwood Village, CO 80111; https://www.rockymountainbloodfund.org/ )
