Obituary

Dustin was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado, received his formal education from pre-school through an associate's degree in auto tech at Morgan Community College, and lived all his life in the place where he was born. It was his home and where he always wanted to beamong family, friends, and neighbors. After a courageous battle with colon cancer, he is now free from pain. Dustin lived his values, never seeking worldly goods nor a place in the limelight. A quiet but astute observer, he saw deeply into the hearts of others and would never do anything by word or deed that might hurt another. He never wanted to be a "bother" to anyone. Dustin accepted both himself and others as they were and arefellow travelers on Planet Earth. He never missed a family gathering for any occasion, large or small, or passed up an opportunity to stop and greet familiar faces with his smile and interest in how they're doing. His two young nieces, Allie and Haley, were bright stars in his life and he was present at each one's birth. Preceding him in death were grandparents Leon and Wanda Hamilton and Dick Haley; an uncle, Kevin Hamilton; and cousin, Lucas Haley. Survivors include his parents Ann and Cory (Ben) Hamilton of Ft. Morgan, brother Casey Hamilton and his wife Jen and their daughters Allie and Haley of Parker; grandmother Beverly Haley Hadden of Ft. Collins; four uncles and their families: Mike and Ginny Haley , Laura and Dave Holmstrom and Hannah, Erin and Joe Duckworth and Colin, Alex, and Benjamin; Pat and Kate Haley , Travis and Ellen; Tim and Glenda Haley and Levon; Kirby Hamilton, Josh, Scott and Ofelia Hamilton. The family is planning a small private gathering to honor and give thanks for the gift of having Dustin in our lives. There will not be any formal service. Dustin taught us by example about strength, courage, and the vision to recognize the true riches given to us each day. To honor his life, the family asks that each day you may give a listening ear and a friendly smile to those you meet along the way.
