Dustin Michael Smith, 26, of Ft. Morgan died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. He was born June 5, 1984 in Hoisington, Kansas to Richard and Angela (Funk) Smith. Dustin moved with his family to Ft. Morgan in 1987. Dustin loved his family and friends and they were very important to him. In his spare time he raced at the I-76 Speedway and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He really enjoyed his job and took great pride in it. Survivors include his wife, Nicole Freauff, and his unborn child, Kamryn, of Ft. Morgan; his parents, Richard and Angela Smith, of Ft. Morgan; one brother, Zachary Smith, of Hillrose; one sister, Jennifer Smith, of Snyder; his grandparents, Sue Wagner of Hoisington, Kansas, Connie Meharg of Thornton, CO, and Ronald Funk of Fenton, Missouri; his great grandfather, Walter Meharg of Great Bend, Kansas and his nephews, Hunter Smith and Huston Smith. Dustin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bernard Wagner and his great grandmother, Ruth Meharg. A memorial service will be Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the I-76 Speedway, west of Ft. Morgan. The service will conclude at the speedway. Memorial gifts may be made, in Dustin's name, for his unborn son, in care of the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Ft. Morgan.
