Obituary

Earl Ellis Jackson, 81, resident of Morgan County, passed away September 24, 2021, at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, CO.

Earl was born April 4, 1940, in Terre Haute, IN. to Frank and Lulu Jackson where he grew up and attended school. After high school he joined the Army where he would proudly serve his country for 31 years. He served from 1958 until 1989, retiring as a SGT. Major. While Earl was a Staff SGT.  he received his 2 nd Bronze Star of Valor for heroism in action conducting ground operations in Vietnam. Throughout his career, he traveled all over the world including Korea, Vietnam, Germany and throughout the United States, having served in Desert Storm as well.  Earl received many distinguished accommodations, including the Legion of Merit, 3 Bronze Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge and 1 st place in the 1961 Rifle Competition of Europe.  An exceptional marksman, Earl was also tasked as an instructor of small arms.

While stationed in Berlin, Germany he met and married his wife of 55 years, Ingrid C. Priemel. She preceded him in death in 2016.

Earl was a good father, loving husband and a family man that would talk to you for hours while working in the family garage. He loved to go shooting, he dabbled in golf, and he was a member of the VFW, American Legion, A.U.S.A. and the N.C.O.A.

Earl will be greatly missed by his family.

Survivors include his sons, Gilford Priemel and his wife, Sue of Fort Morgan and Edward Jackson and his wife, Lisa of Camdenton, MO; his daughters, Denise Klitzsch and her husband, Michael of Berlin, Germany, Janet Diaz of Myrtle Beach, SC, Nancy Crabill and her husband, Steve of Fort Morgan; his sister, Laura Hanson; and his grandchildren, Vanessa, Tanya, Tina, Tessa, Tiffany, John, Christopher, Deborah, Paul, Ashley, and Merissa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Services will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan with military honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
