EARLENE EUNICE PENFOLD, 81, lifelong area resident, died Friday afternoon, June 5, 2009 at the Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan. She was born November 5, 1927 in Wiggins to Walter & Mabel (Stutz) Dodge. She married George Penfold in Fort Lupton on November 27, 1946. The Penfold's farmed until their retirement in 1981. Mrs. Penfold was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan. She enjoyed taking care of children and sewing. Survivors include her two sons, Melvin Penfold of Wiggins and Larry Penfold of Lisco, NE; her daughter, Janet Solymosi of Mesa, AZ; her sister, Mildred Sparks of Denver; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and her friend, Les Baker Chappell, NE She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers; Richard, Bill, Ed, and Gene Dodge; her son, Russell Penfold and her parents. Visitation is today, June 8th from 2 – 4 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel, 225 E. Platte Ave. in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 9th at 2:00 PM, also at the chapel.
