Edgar L. Gerdes, 70, passed away Thursday, May, 2010, in Weld County, Colorado. He was born February 20, 1940 in Wayne County, Iowa, to Ihno & Lois Gerdes. After graduating from high school, Ed came to Morgan County in 1959. Ed married Carolyn Clauson on August 20, 1961 in Snyder, CO. Ed drove a truck for most of his working career. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, of Fort Morgan; 3 children, Jannel Gerdes of Wheat Ridge, CO; Steven and Norman both of Fort Morgan; 1 sister, Nellie Brogard of Chirton, IA; 2 brothers, Richard of Corydon, IA, and John of Promise City, IA; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service and inurnment will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Interment Chapel at the Brush Memorial Cemetery.
