Edith Christensen Smith passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Born to Walter Hans and Cora Mable Christensen May 16, 1927, Edith grew up alongside her siblings Dorothy Day, Elmer Christensen, Burnard Christensen, Lemuel Christensen, Howard Christensen, and Flora Christensen.

On November 4, 1947, Edith married Arnold Emmett "Kelly" Smith at the Methodist Church in Brush, CO. Together, they built a life filled with love and dedication. Edith was a devoted mother to Norman Smith and Thomas Smith, and a cherished grandmother to Faith Smith, Patrick Heagney, and Michelle Miller.

Edith's early years were spent ranching, and she later worked as a nurse's assistant at the Fort Morgan Hospital before marriage. To provide for her family, she raised rabbits and managed a poultry/layer farm. Edith also cooked for a local sale barn and the golf course, showcasing her culinary skills.

In 1979, Edith proudly earned her GED, a testament to her commitment to education. Her hobbies included quilting and visiting local garage sales with her sister Flora, mapping out their routes with precision. Edith also enjoyed hosting garage sales several times each summer.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Cora, her husband Kelly Smith, her son Norm Smith, and her siblings Dorothy Day, Elmer Christensen, Burnard Christensen, Lemuel Christensen, and Howard Christensen. She is survived by her son Tom Smith, her sister Flora Christensen, and her grandchildren Faith Smith, Pat Heagney, and Michelle Miller.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday May 10 at 1:00 PM at Heer Mortuary in Brush, Colorado.

Edith's legacy of love, hard work, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew her.
