Obituary

Edith L. J. Ingmire – Wood, 87, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009, in Monte Vista, CO. She was born February 7, 1922, in Glamorgan, South Wales, Great Britain, to James & Florence Hearn. On June 22, 1944, Edith married Herb Ingmire in Denbigh, South Wales. After WW II, they moved to Fort Morgan. Edith served as the bookkeeper for Ingmire Plastering Company. Herb died in 1984. In 1988 she married Berwin "Red" Wood in Parker, CO. Red died in 2000. Edith also worked as a dressmaker for many years. She also enjoyed gardening. When she was able, Edith was an active member of St. Charles Episcopal Church in Fort Morgan. When her health began to fail, Edith moved to Alamosa to be closer to her daughter. Her favorite time was spent with her family and friends.. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Middlemist, and her husband, Dayton, of Alamosa, CO; 1 grandson, Tony and his wife Marquita; and 2 great grandchildren, Dustin & Tomi.. In addition to her husbands, Edith was preceded in death by 1 son, Terry, and 3 infant children, a grandson, Todd, a brother, Charles Hearn and her parents. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009, at the St. Charles Episcopal Church, 505 E. 9th Avenue in Fort Morgan at 10:30 AM.. Inurnment will follow in the Memory Gardens. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary & Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
