Edward "Lowell" Fetters, 90, passed away June 5, 2022 at the Homelake Veterans Community Center.

Well dressed in his white long-sleeved shirt, a leather vest, wrangler dress jeans and boots, this retired Navy gentleman (with a go-tee) would turn heads when he pulled up in his PINK T-Bird!  With a big smile, Lowell would exit his car, tap his 'Cabbie hat' and check his pocket watch for the time.

Looking back in time; Lowell was busy through his 90+ years.  He was born October 31, 1931, as Edward "Lowell" Fetters. He helped his family with the farm and the gas station. After he graduated from Wiggins High School, he joined the Navy.  He made a career of it and retired after a 25-year stint.

Being back in Wiggins, Quick Service Liquor and Mayor of Wiggins were the new chapters in his life.  He was excited to be back to help the family plus enjoy all the family events.

During his retirement, he was known for the different 'hats' he wore and the hobbies he explored.  Some of these hobbies included collecting coins, trains and beer steins.  Ship building, fishing, poker playing and reading also kept him busy.

Lowell enjoyed fly fishing so much he bought property in Fairplay. Lots of memories were made on that hillside.

After several years being back in Wiggins, he decided to move up in the mountains to the Cotopaxi area.  Believe me, only Lowell loved living off the grid-so to speak.  He settled in his solar generated house, started to fly fish on the Arkansas River and started to host poker game nights for his neighbors.

As life began to change, he moved in with his nephew, Rick.  There he enjoyed his reading, pool playing and dressing in those Navy Blues for special family and naval events.

In 2018, he moved to Homelake Veterans Community Center.  There new friends were made, and dance parties were held.

On June 5, 2022, he was called to show his expertise at playing pool and dancing to the music.

Edward 'Lowell' Fetters is survived by his sister, Patricia Weimer along with many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents:  Pauline & Ray Fetters, brother Lyle 'Bub' Fetters and Margaret 'Peg' Berry.

Graveside service:  Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Hoyt Cemetery 12:30 pm
