Obituary

Edward Donald Hansen was born in Brush Colorado on May 19th, 1935 to Henry and Helen Hansen.  He grew up on the family farm, 8 miles north of Brush, as the youngest of 4 brothers along with a younger sister.  Attending Brush high school, Ed graduated in1953 and continued his education in Fort Collins as a Colorado State Aggie.  In March of 1958 he was drafted into the Armed Forces of the United States.  He had many fond memories of his time in the Army repairing radios on tanks in Korea.  Ed returned home and farmed/ranched for 50 years. Eddie, as his friends called him, was the life of the party.  He was always smiling, full of life and fun to be around.  In 1979 he married the love of his life Helen Joann Hansen.  The following year he welcomed his first son into the world, John was the light of his life as many would say.   He was also a great stepfather to Amy and Charlie Tribbey.  Ed was always up for a fishing trip and never missed a hunt or race.  The stories around these adventures are still talked about today. He was an active member of the Brush VFW and attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  In his later years he enjoyed time with his grandkids and wife both in Arizona and Colorado.

Ed will always be remembered for his smile and loving, cheerful personality.  We'll always imagine hearing him say "Howdy" one more time.  We couldn't have asked for a better husband, father, grandpa, friend and we will miss him dearly.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Walter, Lloyd, Robert and sister Mary.  He is survived by his wife Helen Joann Hansen, his children John Hansen, Charlie Tribbey and Amy Nettle along with his grandchildren Evon and Garrett Looper, and Ellie, Case and Crew Hansen.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 4th, 2025, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush at 1pm.  Burial at the Brush Cemetery will then follow.
