Edward Ostwald 96 lifelong area resident died August 13, 2007 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Ft. Morgan. He was born January 28, 1911 in Denver, Colorado to Phillip and Margaret (Hartung) Ostwald. He married Martha Weber on August 4, 1931in Ft. Morgan. Edward was a member and served as a Deacon of the Christ Congregational Church in Ft. Morgan. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau, Brush Rodeo Association and in 1997 he and his wife Martha were presented with the Watrous Pioneer Award for outstanding citizenship in Morgan County. Edward enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Survivors include one son, James Ostwald of Ft. Morgan, one sister, Esther Gustafson of Wheatridge, Colorado, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha, two daughters, Marilyn Reasoner and Arlene Scheidt, three brothers, Phillip, George and Alex Ostwald and three sisters, Eva Mohr, Rose Mohr and Lydia Bohl. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 15th from 2 until 5 pm at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 16th at 10:30 AM at the Christ Congregational Church in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Memorial Gifts may be made to the Christ Congregational Church Building Fund.
