EDWARD SCHNEIDER, 80, former local resident, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Elms Haven Care Center in Thornton. He was born April 10, 1931 in Morgan County to John & Katie (Neb) Schneider. His mother died when he was very young and he was raised by his father and stepmother, Mary. Schneider graduated from Fort Morgan High School and then served in the U.S. Army. He moved from Fort Morgan in 1969 and then lived in Larimer and Weld Counties before moving to Penrose. He was a welder for the majority of his working years. Mr. Schneider was a former member of the Moose Lodge #1857 and the First Baptist Church. He enjoyed welding as an art and attending his sons running events. He is survived by his three sons, Scott Schneider of Thornton, Shawn Schneider of Lakewood, and Michael Schneider of Iowa; his sister, Shirley Young of Fort Morgan; three brothers, Kenneth Schneider and Richard Schneider of Joes, and Robert Schneider of LaSalle, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Wilbur Schneider; and three daughters, Twila, Tina, and Serena Schneider. A memorial service will be Friday, September 2nd at 10:30 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
