Obituary

Elias "Guero" Pancho" Solis, 71 of Ft. Morgan, died Sunday afternoon at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. He was born July 13, 1936 in Alamo, TX to Gregorio and Candelaria Solis. He married Eva Jimenez September 19, 1957 in Moorhead, Minnesota. He worked for the Sigmans Meat Processing Co. in Brush for 17 years, and later for the Western Sugar Co. He retired in 1996. Elias was a good friend to all. He had a big heart and was always there to help those in need. His humor and jokes will be missed by all. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his mother Candelaria of Sugar Land, TX, his daughters, Mary McCaffrey and her husband Bert of Wellington, Jeanie Cardona of Ft. Morgan, and Joy Solis of Windsor, a son in-law Simon Cardona, four brothers, Elizer Solis and Ernesto Solis both of Harlingen, TX, Estevan Solis of Loveland, Edwardo Solis of Houston, TX, two sisters, Elizabeth Rodriguez of Sugar Land, TX and Esther Hernandez of Houston, TX, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Gregorio, one brother Gregorio Jr. and a sister Matilda, and his former wife Eva J. Solis. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 am to 2 pm at the Heer Mortuary in Ft. Morgan. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 2:30 pm at the Saint Helena Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
