In loving memory of our mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Mae Laso, who passed away on September 8th, 2026. Born May 4th 1936, to Vincente Romero & Reyes Mary Romero (Ulibarri). She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was proceeded in death by her husband Frank Laso, sons Edward Laso, Benjamin Laso; and 12 siblings. She is survived by her children; Francisco (Vince) Laso Jr, Victoria Councillor, Sophia Johnson, and YoLanda Bever. Betty was adored by her 7 grandchildren and her 12 great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was a one-of-a-kind woman, our mother was gentle yet a strong, giving woman who worked tirelessly to ensure that her family had everything they needed. She faced every challenge in life with admirable strength, courage, and love.
Her children remember Betty not for her grand gestures, but for showing up at every game, concert, and every moment that mattered. She continued to do so with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; never missing a softball or basketball game, making breakfast burritos for the whole team or a prom dinner. Making and baking her favorite recipes to send to her children and grandchildren who lived either across town or in a different one across the state.
She was cared for in her final days by her daughters Sophia & Victoria, granddaughter LaToya, and great-granddaughters Annaliyah & Amaris. She was also cared for by family friend Roxanne Vega. If you asked her, she would only say that “her baby” Amaris was the one that took care of her.
