ELLEN L. MESE, 86, of Fort Morgan, died Monday afternoon, June 14, 2010 in Pathways Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Ellen was born July 27, 1923 to Lloyd William & Alice Maude (Ingmire) Venard. She grew up in Fort Morgan and attended school. She graduated from Fort Morgan High School. She married Linus Mese in Fort Morgan on November 27, 1941. They made their home in Kersey and Linus went into the service. Upon his return from the service, Mr. & Mrs. Mese made their home in Fort Morgan. The couple spent much time renovating and building on to their small country home. Linus worked as the sole contractor in his business, L.A. Mese Construction, and Ellen spent her days as a housewife and homemaker doting on her husband and seven children. She took great pride in her family and her home. Ellen was so proud to have lived in the same home for nearly 68 years. Ellen was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. She was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society there for a number of years. She & Linus were strong in their faith and it was very important to them to instill the same values in their children. Ellen was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 19, Fort Morgan. She enjoyed gardening, and she especially enjoyed her flowers. She also liked crocheting, reading, and playing cards. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she loved to host large holiday meals and countless family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and having coffee with anyone who would stop by for a visit. Ellen is survived by her children; Dwayne Mese & his wife Sue, Larry Mese, Jeff Mese & his wife Sheri, and Tom Mese, all of Fort Morgan, Karen Crisp & her husband Archie of Nebraska, and Teresa Mese of Allenspark, CO; 42 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clyde Venard; her husband; her son, Lance "Buzz" Mese; two granddaughters, Kelsie Marie Mese and Shelly Raye Mese; and her great grandson, Michael Edwards Jr. Visitation will be Sunday, June 20th from 4 -7 PM with a Rosary Vigil beginning at 7PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 21st at 10:30 AM from Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan with Father Jason Thuerauf officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan. Donations may be made in Ellen's memory to Pathways Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center, 2000 N.
