Obituary

Elmer Floyd Kembel, 86, lifelong area resident, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush. He was born May 2, 1928 in Ft. Morgan to Conrad and Marie (Schreiner) Kembel. He married Lois V. Nichols on June 5, 1949 in Ft. Morgan. Together they raised their 5 children on the farm. Elmer accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and lived his life in a way to honor his Savior. He excelled at quarter mile racing as well as stock car racing, and at age 57, he got his pilot's license and owned and flew his own plane. Elmer had a kind heart, and he was generous to a fault, always helping those in need. Survivors include, sons, Cary Kembel and wife Patricia of Snyder, Dave Kembel and wife Cheryl of Akron, and Scott Kembel and wife Joyce of Brush, daughters, Janice Brandt and husband Steve of Keenesburg and Wendy Kroskob and husband Jeff of Brush, one brother, Marvin Kembel of Ft.
