Obituary

Elvina Brunkhardt died August 20, 2012 at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, Colorado. She was born on March 1, 1920 to Jacob and Mary (Bott) Mohrlang. On February 24, 1940 in Sidney, Nebraska, Elvina was married to August Brunkhardt. The couple farmed and ranched in the Hillrose-Merino area and also built a dairy herd of registered ayrshire cattle that were recognized locally, statewide and nationally for their conformation, and production. August died in June 1964 and Elvina married Fred Brunkhardt in January 1966. They resided in the Hillrose area until 1975 when they retired from farming and moved to Brush. Fred died in January 1980. Elvina enjoyed embroidery and reading. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Plains Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Elvina leaves behind four children, Lucille (Cecil) Krueger of Hillrose, Carol (Heinz) Schwarz of Gulfport, Mississippi, Duane Brunkhardt of Brush, and Barbara (Terry) Crowder of Martinez, California, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husbands, two sisters, one brother and her parents. Memorial services will be Friday, August 24 at 10:30 am at Shepherd of the Plains Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will be at 2 pm at Brush Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Elvina's memory to the Shepherd of the Plains Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan.
