Elwyn L. Vondy, 91, life resident of the Snyder / Antelope Springs community, passed away Friday, October 27, 2006, at his daughter's home near Crawford, CO. He was born November 4, 1914, in Snyder, CO, to Victor & Edna Vondy. He married Opal L. Kilmer on August 30, 1936. Elwyn was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Gideon's International, and Royal Neighbors. He enjoyed hunting, and woodworking. He will be well remembered for his years that he went to the mountains, cut and sold Christmas trees. Survivors include his children, Paul, and his wife, Darlene, of Mesquite, NV, Charles, and his wife, Betty, of Snyder; Carol Murph of Uvalde, TX, and Jane, and her husband, Don, Hart, of Crawfor, CO; his daughter-in-law, Bea Vondy of Denver; 12 grandchildren, Susan Marino and Russell Vondy both of Denver, Joy Batt of Stelring, Doug Vondy of Fort Morgan, Jody Bullard and Andrew Murph both of Texas, Bardley Hart and Michael Hart of of Crawford, CO, AC Vondy and Christie Dowd both of Michigan, Aaron Vondy of North Carolina, and Dawn Funk of Snyder, 23 great grandchildren, 2 bothers, William, and his wife, Bertha, of Cheyenne, WY, and Phil, and his wife, Betty, of Brush; numersous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 66 years in 2002, one son, Donald L. Vondy in 2002, one grandson, Dudley S. Vondy in 1963, one son-in-law, Wayne Murph in 2003, and one brother, John. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at 10:30 AM at the Brush United Methodist Church, 1701 Edcmunds Street.
