Emma Schlothauer, 90, lifetime Morgan county resident, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan.  She was born October 27, 1926 to Peter and Maria (Sagel) Ruhl.

Emma married David J. Schlothauer on May 26, 1946 in Fort Morgan. She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical church, and also the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  In her free time she enjoyed knitting, quilting and socializing with her friends.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

She is survived by her one son, Allan Schlothauer of San Juan Bautista, CA; two brothers, Chic (Donna) Ruhl of Brush, and Pete Ruhl Jr. of Denver; three sisters, Ruth Brandt of Fort Morgan, Wilma Moore of Denver and Virginia (Irvin) Schimpf of Falcon, CO; two grandchildren, Daniel (Lauren) Schlothauer of Odessa, TX and Shannon Schlothauer of Austin, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband David; one brother, Wilbert Ruhl; two sisters, Mary Brandt and Lydia Schlothauer and her parents.

A funeral service will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 1:30 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow immediately in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
