EMMA SHRYER, 94, of Fort Morgan, died early Friday morning, May 4, 2012 at Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan. She was born in Fort Morgan on January 18, 1918 to Fredrick Sr. & Anna (Miller) Kembel. She married Albert Cecil Shryer on June 10, 1952. Mrs. Shryer worked as Clerk for several area stores. She had worked at Duckwalls, Kinkels, Big T, and Conrad's before working at Safeway where she later retired from. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Council For Aging. She volunteered with Meet & Eat and the Senior Center in Fort Morgan for a number of years as well. Emma enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, and tending to her garden and flowers. She was also an avid family historian. She is survived by her sister, Betty Yancey of Fort Morgan; and her nieces and nephews, Robert Kembel, Edward Kembel, Gary Kembel, and Carol Tormohlen, all of Fort Morgan, Lillian Wagner of Akron, and Betty Higel of Sterling. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marie Bauer; five brothers, Fred, Carl, Emanuel, Sam, and John Kembel; her husband, Albert Shryer; and her daughter, Cheryl Ivy Shryer. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 9th from 4 – 7 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 10th at Immanuel Evangelical Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
